We are looking for two motivated individuals to join the EULAR Young PARE working group, the youth group of the European League Against Rheumatism’s Standing Committee of People with Arthritis and Rheumatism in Europe (PARE). The successful applicants will be involved in all activities of the working group, including supporting World Arthritis Day and EULAR’s #DontDelayConnectToday campaign.

As part of the working group, you will be helping to embed the youth perspective of living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) into all of EULAR’s activities. You will also be involved in promoting education and awareness among the public about RMDs in young people. It is expected that you will be able to commit, on average, around four hours per month to the working group. At certain times of the year, this may be more or less, given the type of work which needs your input. Having been a member of the working group for two and a half years, it is a truly wonderful experience, which will enable you to grow as an individual, while contributing to a more positive future for young people with RMDs. As a team, we are extremely flexible, since we all know what it is like to live with a long-term condition. To be eligible to apply, you should be aged 18 to 35, living with, or caring for someone with an RMD and working with a patient organisation for people with RMDs in your country, either in a paid or voluntary capacity. If you are interested in applying to the working group, please send a short statement of motivation and a copy of your curriculum vitae (CV) to youngpare@eular.org by Monday 31 July 2017 at 16:00 BST; 17:00 CET. The Working Group is just one aspect of the wider EULAR Young PARE network. The aim of EULAR Young PARE is to not only enhance the work of EULAR, but to truly represent young people living with RMDs. The wider network includes all of our liaison individuals, who work in their respective countries and with national organisations to represent young people with RMDs. If joining the working group is not for you, there are many ways that you can get involved in our work. Whether it be sharing best practices via the Virtual Knowledge Centre (www.vkc.youngpare.org), taking part in initiatives such as World Arthritis Day or following on social media, you are an essential part of the EULAR Young PARE network and we value your input and contributions to making the world a better place for young people with RMDs.
