A team of individuals from the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside, including Dundee Comics Creative Space and people with fibromyalgia, have designed a comic with the purpose of raising awareness of fibromyalgia amongst professionals, families, and other communities. It also illustrates the ongoing life transitions of those who have fibromyalgia, as well as its impact on friends and family.

The comic, titled Fibromyalgia and us explores the effects of fibromyalgia, in an attempt to better explain the long-term condition to the public. Professor Divya Jindal-Snape, Chair of Education, Inclusion and Life Transitions; and Associate Dean (Research) in the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Dundee said: “This comic has been designed with the purpose of raising awareness of fibromyalgia amongst professionals, families, and communities… It illustrates the ongoing life transitions of those who have fibromyalgia as well as its impact on significant others.” Have a read of the fibromyalgia comic by clicking here! If you have any comments, feel free to send them in, and I will be sure to pass them onto the team who developed the comic. Fibromyalgia And Us Future editions of the comic are planned to address other health conditions, such as heart disease, organ donation and autism.
