Are you interested in the future of health and social care? If so, get yourself down to Manchester between March 5th and 7th, 2019, for the World Healthcare Congress Europe, which is set to showcase new approaches to health and social care delivery.

In today’s current climate, patients, carers and healthcare professionals are facing a multitude of political, social and financial challenges. The conference will explore how the revolution of healthcare delivery will have a significant impact on health and financial sustainability; and what better place to hold the conference than Manchester – the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution!

The audience of over 1,000 delegates will consist of representatives from all areas of healthcare, including hospitals, health systems, pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech companies, academia and government agencies.

The Congress will provide a platform for the discussion of three themes:

  1. Innovative health and social care ecosystems;
  2. Arts for health and social change;
  3. Accelerating discovery into practice – the future of personalised healthcare.

If you’re wondering what will actually be covered, take a look at the programme here, which includes an extensive array of topics, from personalised healthcare to the challenges of an ageing population. Patient and carer representatives will also been involved, including a group who have been working with staff at The University of Manchester on a very different session at the Congress, titled ‘Wouldn’t it be good if…: Patient perspectives‘. On Wednesday 06 March 2019, I’ve been tasked with co-chairing this exciting session with Jackie Oldham, where we’ll have a series of short talks about the future of healthcare from people living with health conditions in the Manchester area.

If you’re not able to attend, don’t worry, as the event will be covered on social media at #WHCE2019 – I’ll be sure to post plenty of updates too!
