Are you an early career researcher or healthcare professional in rheumatology? If so, and you’re keen to network, collaborate and learn from colleagues across borders, then this opportunity could be perfect for you!

EMEUNET is the Emerging EULAR NETwork, the origins of which date back to 2009 following EULAR’s core objectives at that time to “Bring on board high quality, young generation contributors in all EULAR activities”. Ten years on, EMEUNET has significantly grown, representing a larger group of individuals working within the field of rheumatology.

Now you have an opportunity to join the EMEUNET Working Group, consisting of 50 young rheumatologists and researchers who are responsible for the core activities of EMEUNET for a three year period. Aside from career development, the EMEUNET working group offers opportunities for you to get involved in EULAR task forces developing recommendations and points to consider within the field of rheumatology, EULAR abstract reviews, EULAR conference responsibilities, plus much more! Most importantly, it will increase your network by interacting with your peers across Europe and beyond!

The Working Group includes seven subgroups: education, country liaisons, social media (website, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media accounts plus a social media team working directly with Annals of Rheumatic Diseases), visibility, newsletters, peer mentoring and global affairs. For more information on the different activities currently ongoing in each subgroup, check out the latest EMEUNET newsletter, or head on over to EMEUNET’s YouTube channel!

To apply for Working Group membership, you must qualify to the following criteria:

  1. Be a registered member of EMEUNET (which is free and easy to do on the EMEUNET website here).
  2. Be aged 40 years or under at the time of application.
  3. Be resident in one of the member countries of EULAR.
  4. Have an interest in research and/or education in rheumatology as indicated by your letter of motivation in the application form; this letter should also express your views about the future of EMEUNET and its activities.
  5. Be research active, demonstrated by having at least one abstract as first author in an international congress or one first authorship of a manuscript in a peer-reviewed journal.

The deadline to send in your applications has been extended to Sunday 24 March 2019. The application form can be downloaded here.

Please send the following documents to emeunet@eular.ch

  • Your completed application form;
  • Your CV with photograph; and
  • A signed letter of support (scanned).

Applications lacking any of the three documents will not be considered. Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application by mid-April. Good luck!
