Employment

2018-present: Consultant, Collaboro Consulting, Bolton, England, United Kingdom.
I support clients in developing and sustaining the way in which they involve patients and members of the public in research and advocacy activities. I also provide freelance medical writing and editing services, including the translation and review of scientific content into accessible information for patients, carers and members of the public.

2015-present: Private Tutor, Tutorfair, United Kingdom.
I am a registered private tutor for young people from a variety of backgrounds, specialising in Chemistry and Physics up to Advanced (A) Level, and Biology up to degree level.

2014-2015: Research Associate, Double Helix Consulting / Complete Clarity (McCann Complete Medical), Macclesfield, England, United Kingdom.
As part of my industrial placement from The University of Manchester, I worked across a variety of strategic consulting, pricing and market access projects in multiple therapeutic areas, for clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Project types that I worked on included insights generation and analysis, patient journey development, brand and value strategy, literature reviews, pricing analyses and health technology appraisals. In addition, I was involved in a variety of business development opportunities, market landscape assessments and the development of Double Helix’s social media strategy. This twelve-month placement enabled me to advance my ability to synthesise complex data into relevant and concise project deliverables. I developed essential skills in project management of national and international studies for global pharmaceutical products, as well broadening my written and oral communication skills and my awareness of global healthcare systems, structures and policies.

2013: Student Ambassador, The University of Manchester Faculty of Life Sciences, Manchester, England, United Kingdom.
I supported the Faculty of Life Sciences on undergraduate open days and pre-acceptance interviews, by offering individual and group tours of the campus, in addition to sharing insights into the life of an undergraduate biomedical scientist to prospective students and their families.

2010-2014: Website and Marketing Manager, St. Joseph’s High School, Bolton, England, United Kingdom.
I was appointed the school’s first Website and Marketing Manager, following a period of volunteering. During my time at St. Joseph’s, I was responsible for driving forward the school’s marketing strategy, with a particular emphasis on digital marketing in the community. I co- developed the school’s website, established several social media platforms, and launched a new community magazine. This enabled me to develop key leadership and management skills, influencing the school development plan with my vision for an inclusive and supportive digital environment for students, parents, carers, staff and the wider community. In addition, I co-ordinated the school’s volunteering scheme, and academic learning resource centre, where I engaged students to develop their learning techniques and critical thinking skills.
