Simon R. Stones, BSc (Hons) MMRS is a multi-award winning patient advocate, consultant and researcher from Bolton in the United Kingdom. He was recognised in 2019 as one of the top 100 most influential people with disabilities in the UK, and was the winner of the international WEGO Health Award for Patient Healthcare Collaborator in 2017. He is a passionate advocate and ambassador for people living with chronic conditions and invisible illnesses, inspired and empowered by his own journey with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and inflammatory bowel disease since childhood. His experience caring for his mother has also equipped Simon with the passion and determination to fight for those whose voices aren’t always heard. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Trustee and Research Liaison for Fibromyalgia Action UK, Trustee and Secretary for RAiISE, and President of the European Network of Fibromyalgia Associations (ENFA). He is also a Consultant of Collaboro Consulting, where Simon supports clients in communicating health and social care information to patients, carers and members of the public.
