Simon R. Stones, BSc (Hons) is a medical writer and multi-award-winning health advocate from Bolton, near Manchester, in the United Kingdom. He is recognised as one of the top 100 most influential people with disabilities in the UK, and was the winner of the international WEGO Health Award for Patient Healthcare Collaborator in 2017. He is a passionate advocate and ambassador for people living with a variety of health conditions, inspired and empowered by his own journey with arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and a number of other conditions since childhood. His experience of caring for his late mum has also equipped Simon with the passion and determination to fight for those whose voices aren’t always heard. He is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Trustee and Secretary for RAiISE, and has held a number of national and international positions related to his advocacy work.
